EFFRAT NAMED NATIONAL VICE PRESIDENT FOR DEVELOPMENT
As Phase II of the Campaign for Hebrew College gains momentum, President David Gordis has named Albert G. Effrat to the position of national vice president for development. With 30 years' experience in major gift solicitation for Jewish organizations and Israeli academic institutions, Effrat, says Gordis, "brings great insight, a wealth of connections and passionate commitment to our effort to build national support for Hebrew College's ground-breaking approach to Jewish education." Effrat comes to Hebrew College after 12 years as southern regional director for the American Society for Technion-Israel Institute of Technology. From 1987 to 1991, he was Florida regional director and, later, director of special projects in Washington, D.C., for the American Israel Public Affairs Committee. Prior to that role, Effrat oversaw fundraising in south Florida for American Friends of Hebrew University from 1984 to 1987, and served as executive director for the Jewish Federation of Waterbury in Connecticut from 1977 to 1984. A resident of Pembroke Pines, Fla., Effrat will maintain his home base in Florida while traveling on behalf of the College.
