Albert R. Dowden, Trustee. Albert Dowden has been a member of the Board since 2010.
Mr. Dowden retired at the end of 1998 after a 24-year career with Volvo Group North America, Inc. and Volvo Cars of North America, Inc.
Mr. Dowden joined Volvo as general counsel in 1974 and was promoted to increasingly senior positions until 1991 when he was appointed president, chief executive officer and director of Volvo Group North America and senior vice president of Swedish parent company AB Volvo.
Since retiring, Mr. Dowden continues to serve on the board of the Reich & Tang Funds and also serves on the boards of Homeowners of America Insurance Company and its parent company, as well as Nature’s Sunshine Products, Inc. and The Boss Group.
Mr. Dowden’s charitable endeavors currently focus on Boys & Girls Clubs where he
has been active for many years, as well as several other not-for-profit organizations.
Mr. Dowden began his career as an attorney with a major international law firm, Rogers & Wells (1967-1976), which is now Clifford Chance.
