Alan Marks, head teacher for the South Valley Academy, said his school planned to use the money to buy the property it now leases at Blake and Coors SW, and then to build a lecture hall there.
"We kept them in the loop entirely," Marks said."… There was never a time they were not informed about what we were doing."Marks
said the 7-year-old South Valley Academy
has been unable to be a part of the APS master plan because it is not on public land. The money, he
said, would allow the school to buy the land and be a part of the APS master plan and receive money for construction and maintenance from bond elections.Marks
hopes to work it out with APS
before July 1, which is the last day the district can reverse its decision.
