Alan Jacobs, the liquidating trustee, filed the suit in November, seeking more than $21.8 million in payments made to Sanders and DiCarmine in the year before the firm sought bankruptcy, arguing the payments were "objectively unreasonable, if not arbitrary and capricious."
After Sanders and DiCarmine were among former Dewey executives indicted in March 2014 on charges of widespread fraud, Jacobs amended the complaint to incorporate new allegations that the former Dewey leaders personally enriched themselves at the expense of creditors and the firm's overall health.
