Before starting his own firm in 1990, Alan spent five years with William M. Mercer, Inc. in Albuquerque and eight years with Johnson & Higgins, Inc. in Philadelphia as an employee benefit consultant.
Prior to his consulting experience, Alan spent five years with Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association in New York.
Alan earned a B.S. degree in Finance at Pennsylvania State University and an MBA from Pace University in New York.
He has also earned the professional designation of Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) which is co-sponsored by the International Foundation of Employee Benefits and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
He is also a member of the National Association of Health Insurance Underwriters.
