Ahmed Helmy
Ahmed Helmy, area editor for networking, is an associate professor in the Department of Computer and Information Science and Engineering at the University of Florida. Helmy's research interests include design, analysis and measurement of wireless ad hoc, sensor, and mobile social networks; mobility modeling; multicast protocols; IP mobility; and network simulation. Helmy received a BSc in electronics and communications engineering and an MS in engineering mathematics from Cairo University, Egypt, and an MSc in electrical engineering and a PhD in computer science from USC. He was a key researcher in the Network Simulator NS-2 and Protocol-Independent Multicast (PIM) projects at USC/ISI. He is a member of the IEEE Computer and Communications Societies and the ACM and has served on numerous committees for IEEE and ACM conferences on networks.
