Major Experiences
Adrian joined Kroll's Corporate Advisory & Restructuring group in 2003 as a Partner in the Birmingham office.Adrian was previously a partner in Arthur Andersen and more recently was Head of Corporate Restructuring in Ernst & Young's Birmingham office.Adrian is a chartered accountant and qualified to act as an insolvency practitioner in 1996.
Adrian has a particular focus on private equity transactions, advising on a number of successful restructuring and workout situations, which have allowed the business involved to avoid formal insolvency.
Adrian has worked across a wide range of sectors in the UK and overseas but has particular experience of textiles, printing, food processing, electronics, engineering and automotive components.He has recently handled review projects for pension scheme trustees in the consumer products, textiles, printing and engineering sectors.
Adrian has also led operational/business improvement and working capital management projects.He has written extensively on the key aspects of working capital management and was a major contributor to the book "Corporate Turnaround" on this area.
Major Recent Projects
Transtec plc, a £300 million engineering group.Adrian was one of the Receivers dealing with the automotive division which, despite major trading issues, was successfully traded for ten months before being sold, allowing the secured lenders to be repaid in full.Garton Engineering plc, a £30 million engineering group.Through a series of separate business sales over a four month period, secured creditors were repaid in full and a significant surplus generated for unsecured creditors.Demaglass, a £30 million glassware manufacturer.Despite the business no longer being viable, Adrian led a controlled work out of inventory over nine months to maximise value, thereby allowing the secured lender to be repaid.
