Adesh Jain,M. Engg., is Director Incharge of 'Centre for Excellence in Project Management' (CEPM), Chairman of PM Guru Inc. (USA), and Honorary National President of Project Management Associates (PMA - India). He is the founder of PMA and also past President and Chair of the Council of Delegates of International Project Management Association (IPMA). Adesh is currently a global advisor to PMForum andPM World Today.
Adesh's career includes 40 years of project-oriented work, including projects for Litton Industries and Control Data Corporation in the USA in the early 1970s. In 1973, Adesh returned to India where he became No. 2 in one of the largest steel plants in India. In 1975, Adesh was asked by Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, the largest Indian Government engineering undertaking, to head their IT and Project Management services, the youngest CEO ever to head a division there. He became Chairman of the Heavy Engineering Group in 1982. In 1991, the President of India honored him with a Fellowship award for laying a strong foundation for the IT industry in India. He has since been conferred with 6 major awards in India, including the 'Gem of India' award. Adesh started the CEPM in 1992, and founded PMA, India - a-not-for-profit registered society in 1993.
He was a member of the steering committee for the Global PM Forum during 1996-2005 and received the Distinguished Contribution Award from Project Management Institute (PMI®) in USA in 1997. In January 1999, Adesh became the first non-European to become the Vice President of IPMA, serving three terms through 2004. He was elected President of IPMA for 2005-2006 and IPMA Chair for two years beginning January 2007.
Adesh has addressed or trained over 50,000 people world wide, has made over 40 keynote presentations, is author of the book "New Dimensions in Project Management" (1992), and has authored over 50 articles on project management. Since 1999, Adesh has contributed significantly to modern PM in China where he has trained over 2,000 professionals. He is Honorary Chairman of the China Project Management Committee (CPMC), the first non-Chinese to enjoy such a privilege. In 2001, he was invited to give a keynote presentation in the Great Hall of China at a UNIDO conference. Adesh has been a keynote speaker at major conferences worldwide. Adesh Jain has a BS in Mathematics and BS in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, and a MS in Control Systems from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada. Adesh received the IPMA Honorary Fellowship award in October 2006 and became a Global Advisor for PMForum in 2007.

Adesh Jain, B.E. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore and Masters of Engineering in Control Systems from Canada in 1967 is the First IPMA Level A Assessor. In 2005, Adesh became the first non-European President of IPMA since its establishment in 1965 and later in 2007, he became the Chairman of the Council of Delegates (CoD) of IPMA. He is also Honorary Chairman of China Project Management Research Committee (PMRC). He was invited to give presentations at the NASA - PM Challenge in 2010 & in 2012. He is the National Hony. President of PMA & Chairman, I2P2M. In recognition of his contribution to project management globally, a postal stamp (limited number copies) in his honor was released in Nov. 2010 by Government of Turkey.
