The Rev. David W. Blair was born in Salem, Oregon on November 6, 1954 to Wayne and Adelaide Blair
.The family moved to Klamath Falls, Oregon in 1958.There David attended elementary schools, graduating from Klamath Union High School
in 1972.He began his undergraduate studies at Concordia Jr. College, Portland, Oregon, receiving the A.A. degree in 1974.He then attended Valparaiso University in the Social Work degree program in 1974-1975 Feeling called into the ministry, he entered Concordia Senior College, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, receiving his Bachelor of Arts degree, with a concentration in Hebrew, in 1977.That fall he entered Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, Missouri, and received his Master of Divinity degree in May, 1981.His

David was ordained into the pastoral ministry on June 28, 1981 at Zion Lutheran Church
, Klamath Falls, Oregon.On September 13, 1981 he
was installed as Associate Pastor at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church
, Goleta, California, with a focus on college and young adult age ministry.He served there until accepting the call to serve as Pastor of Zion-Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Odessa, Washington and Salem Lutheran Church, Martin, Washington, being installed on July 7, 1985.In those years he served the church at large in a number of positions, including as LWML Zone Counselor, Pastoral Advisor to LLL for Eastern Washington, Circuit Enabler Trainer for the District, and President of the Odessa Ministerial Association.In 1991 Pastor Blair accepted the call to Our Savior Lutheran, Church, Seattle, Washington, being installed on November 17, 1991.
In those years he
was actively involved in the ministry of Concordia Lutheran School
, an association school of eight LC-MS churches in North Seattle, founded in 1905.He served on the school board and on a number of committees, including the school relations/call committee for five years.
