As Chief Scientist at 1010data, Dr. Jacobs brings both a generalist's multidisciplinary orientation and over 20 years of deep experience in high-performance scientific computing, functional programming, and parallel processing to the task of designing and building the company's core analytical functionality.

Prior to joining 1010data, Dr. Jacobs was a computational neuroscientist at Weill Cornell Medical College and at UCLA, with earlier stints at Preference Metrics LLC in San Francisco, the Neuromorphic Systems Group of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, and Coopers & Lybrand LLP. He holds a Ph.D. in neuroscience from UC Berkeley and a B.A. in linguistics from Columbia University and has authored or co-authored over 15 scholarly publications in several fields.
