Aboud began playing the violin when he was 7 years of age, taught by Trisknivo, a Russian musician. By the age of 16 he had moved to Beirut, eventually forming his 30 piece orchestra and playing live in his own TV programme. As an international musician, Aboud met many famous people including King Hussein of Jordan. Because of the conflict in Beirut, he moved from the Lebanon to Central London in 1977, where he mixed with other famous musicians and was invited to play in different clubs such as the Nile Club in New Bond Street. He has also recorded work with Sarah Brightman and played with Nigel Kennedy. Aboud likes and plays most music including European and Arabic music. He has no preference as long as it is good. Aboud now sees England as his home but still has fond memories of the Lebanon.

Aboud Abdel Aal (a fantastic musician) and the rest of the musicians were in San Francisco in concert.
I asked Aboud if he and the rest of the group would like to play for George's album (They had played for Fadil Shahin's first album), so they agreed. I mentioned to George that while Aboud and the group were still in town, he should make his first album with them. He was reluctant at first, but I kept after him until he agreed. I co-engineered George's first album, for which he never gave me credit. However, it was all right; I didn't feel his slight was intentional. Besides, I did it because I liked his voice.
