A. R. Sutton A.R. Sutton, Valley Catholic's art teacher since 2000, teaches Art I, Advanced Art, Sculpture, A.P. Art, and Middle School Art. Originally from Rochester, NY, A.R. earned a B.A. in Studio Art from Eastern Washington University while he was an instructor in the Air Force, then a Master's Degree from George Fox University. A.R. learned bronze casting at many foundries, including Burning Palace Bronze, the Maiden Foundry, and Calcagno's Foundry. Today his bronzes are featured in galleries such as the Freed Gallery and the Portland Art Museum's rental sales gallery. His bronze of Beaverton's mascot, "Bucky," stands in the city hall of Cheonan, South Korea alongside Cheonan's mascot of a young patriot in a display dedicated to friendship and cross-cultural exchange between the two cities. His bronze monument "Touch the Moon" can be seen in north Portland at "The Institute for Self Enhancement," a school for at-risk youths.
