Description:

The PGA offers an intensive basketball training curriculum. Athletes are taught concepts and ideas that transform their approach to the game. The goal is simple: To expose students to more basketball know-how than they have experienced anywhere else. Athletes benefit from 3-hours of daily interactive classroom sessions examining the mental and tactical aspects of the game. As a part of the classroom learning, each session includes a breakdown of the PGA ‘do's and don'ts' for performance. Players are shown DVD video breakdown of NCAA, CIS and professional games. In addition, another 7-hours each day is devoted to applying the classroom concepts on-court in skill and habit development sessions. If this sounds a little overwhelming, don't worry. It did for many who have now successfully graduated from the program. Remember, what we will be attempting to do is redefine your habits and capitalize on your inborn tendencies. Here's what one university coach had to say about the impact the PGA had on his player: "When Jon [Carreiro] came back from the Point Guard Academy, he had picked up a lot of little things that helped him to make significant improvements in his game. In fact, we felt he was our most improved player, and many were saying he was one of the most improved players in the county. It all seemed to come together. It's been an unbelievable year for him. I'm hoping to send one of our other point guards this year."
