COUNTY EYES ADDITIONAL $2.8M GRANT FOR COURTHOUSE — Commissioners will vote to accept an additional $2.8 million in funding from the Texas Historical Commission (THC) for the Wise County Courthouse project Monday. The bonus comes after legislators approved $45 million in additional funding for THC’s Courthouse Preservation Program. The added state investment is benefiting future projects as well as previously approved projects, like in Wise County. The original estimate was around $9 million forHouston to spend millions in pharmaceutical settlement funds on battling opioid crisis
The city of Houston has created a new fund to direct millions of settlement dollars from pharmaceutical companies to local opioid programs.
