Waltham’s ZoomInfo Sponsors Software Engineering Contest

February 3, 2012 — Waltham, Mass. — ZoomInfo, a provider of continuously updated business information on five million businesses and 50 million employees, announced a software development contest for area engineers. The competition is part of a networking open house ZoomInfo will host for all interested engineers. ZoomInfo is offering a MacBook Air, an iPad2 and a Kindle Fire as prizes in the competition.

"Boston-area engineers can enjoy recognition among and by their peers by entering this contest," said Eugenia Gillan, vice president of engineering, ZoomInfo. "It also provides them a chance to demonstrate their talents using ZoomInfo's advanced product platform. And we think they'll also find out why Zoom is a very cool place to work!"

The contest encourages engineers to create applications that incorporate data retrieved via the ZoomInfo public application programming interface (API). Entries could be anything from apps for mobile devices to integrations with CRM programs to "mash-ups" that combine ZoomInfo data with other Web applications, including online maps and social networks. Entries remain the property of their creators but ZoomInfo is prepared to purchase the rights to software entered.

Entry deadline is 5 p.m. ET March 2. Finalists will present their projects at a ZoomInfo engineering open house March 20. Detailed information is available on the ZoomInfo website at www.zoominfo.com/api-contest
