New ZoomInfo Service Tests Email Addresses to Verify Deliverability
Helps B2B Marketers Avoid Risks of High Bounce Rates
October 4, 2011 — Waltham, Mass. — ZoomInfo, a provider of continuously updated business information, today announced a service to help B2B email marketers improve deliverability as well as avoid blacklisting and other problems associated with high bounce rates.
ZoomInfo Email Address Validator tests every email address in a customer’s database (without sending actual messages) to confirm deliverability. The service returns the customer’s file with all invalid email addresses and spam traps tagged for easy removal or replacement, along with a detailed report. ZoomInfo’s data experts can also remove all invalid addressees, replace outdated information with correct data and help marketers find more buyers by adding new contacts and appending other missing data to existing records.
According to ZoomInfo Founder and CEO Yonatan Stern, “ZoomInfo Email Address Validator addresses a serious problem for marketers. When a lot of messages bounce back, an email service provider can refuse to continue sending that company’s messages. And at the receiving end, email filters can block subsequent messages from the company, blacklisting its domain and IP address.”
While testing the new service on a list provided by one of its existing customers — a global provider of workforce management solutions — ZoomInfo found that nearly 63 percent of the email addresses were invalid. That’s an all-too common problem, according to Stern.
“Because of the high rate of change in the business world, we found it necessary to use the same process at least every 90 days on the ZoomInfo Database of 50 million business people and five million companies,” Stern added, “and we’re thinking about doing it even more often.”
Bob Hughes, president, Direct Marketing Association of Southern California, said, “Adherence to email best practices — like maintaining good list hygiene — is one of the best ways to avoid more restrictive and costly government regulation of email marketing. We wholeheartedly support the use of tools like ZoomInfo Email Address Validator that result in cleaner lists and better management of senders’ reputations.”
As an introductory offer, ZoomInfo will provide an email validity report for free for lists of up to 2,500 records. For more information about ZoomInfo‘s Email Address Validator and other customized data services, visit www.zoominfo.com/validator.
