Customer Demand Prompts Eliyon Expansion Plans Into Canada
Customers rely on Eliyon's service to streamline their recruiting and research efforts, quickly compile sales leads, enhance competitive intelligence and more.
"In addition to shared commerce, many companies have offices on both sides of the border - there is a real need for a comprehensive data source," said Mark Ehr, a senior analyst with Enterprise Management Associates in Boulder, Colorado. "Eliyon has a large repository of relevant business data that is constantly updated and expanded. Whether a company is seeking talent, sales leads, or competitive information, Eliyon's technology provides uniquely qualified results that competitors will find hard to match."
Hundreds of businesses, including Fortune 500 companies such as Microsoft, AOL Time Warner, IBM and Staples, are already Eliyon customers. While these clients have access to profiles on professionals from major Canadian businesses operating Web sites with .com designations, data from 125,000 new ".ca" sites will be added, increasing the breadth and depth of the information.
Eliyon's technology continually scans in excess of 7 million individual Web sites, as well as all major press release and electronic news services, SEC filings and other online sources. From this material, Eliyon automatically extracts biographical and other data from disparate published sources, reassembling it all into single, easy-to-read and detailed profiles. Data found on executives already in Eliyon's database automatically updates and supplements existing profiles. Additional individual profiles are created and included at an average rate of 15,000 per day as new professionals are identified.
Eliyon users in turn can search the database for candidates and information using a number of diverse criteria. This includes titles and education, as well as size, nature and location of the firms for which they've worked. Users can also search for candidates from a specific company, enabling them to target professionals working for competitors.
"Our technology has begun crawling Canadian Web sites and we expect a very comprehensive volume of business data by late spring," said Jonathan Stern, Eliyon president and CEO. "U.S. and Canadian business communities are closely knit in many ways, making this both an attractive and rapid expansion to undertake. We decided to do this prompted by the needs and requests of existing customers. As a result, we have many customers looking forward to this increased coverage and are confident of attracting additional businesses in this new and important marketplace."
