Barry Michaels, (‘Michaels In The Morning‘) American Radio Personality. Country Music Association (CMA) and Billboard Magazine recognized broadcaster with nominations for Major Market Air Personality of the Year and three time winner of the ADDY awar...

d for excellence in commercial voice work. Barry has also been nominated three times at the The Bobby Poe Pop Music Convention for Music Director of the Year awards held in Washington, D.C. Barry was asked to moderate a panel, with other radio notables, entitled 'Morning Show Boot Camp' at the Country Radio Seminar (CRS) in Nashville, Tennessee. While in Orlando, Florida, the 'Michaels in the Morning Show' was selected by Disney Company officials to broadcast from Walt Disney World. This was the first of it's kind at the Disney location. Barry's performance so impressed Disney brass, that he was asked to return for the first ever live broadcast in 1982 at the opening of Epcot Center. Barry's work in radio has primarily been in 'morning drive', having hosted successful shows across the country in such cities as Houston, Dallas, Miami, Phoenix, Baltimore, Sacramento, and for five years was heard as an international personality for the ABC Radio Networks, at the same time being simulcast on the Armed Forces Network (AFN). Barry is also know for his charitable work, and through his tireless on-air and on-site efforts, has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for such notable organizations as the Muscular Dystrophy Association, The American Cancer Society, The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and many local organizations in the cities that he has been employed. Barry's on-going radio career can be viewed at www.thebarrymichaels.com. where he shares a behind the scenes look at his 'radio life' with humorous and sometimes poignant stories and pays tribute to those who entertained and inspired him. Barry is married and the father to four sons, including twins, and is currently living in Virginia where he is doing mornings, imaging, and web design for WYYD, Roanoke/Lynchburg.
