Chris is an accomplished marketing and communications professional offering national and global business-to-business marketing management. His dynamic marketing career has included challenging assignments in technology, professional services, and PR/advertising industries. Chris possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and has worked in start-ups as well as established public and private companies.

His experience runs the spectrum of marketing services. During his 20 year career, Chris has lead three corporate positioning and branding programs and has participated in strategic corporate planning, business continuity and product development road map initiatives. He takes pride in creating competitive advantage for companies by developing strategic marketing programs and business communications. Considered a big picture thinker, consensus builder, doer, strategist, planner, and savvy communicator.

Most recently, he was Regional Marketing Director for Gensler, a global architectural firm. His responsibilities included driving growth of region’s practice areas by providing a marketing-based approach to regional business development. Prior to Gensler, Chris was acting Chief Marketing Officer/PR Manager for Carter & Burgess, Inc., a national architectural and engineering firm based in Fort Worth. He joined the firm in 2002, as manager of public relations. In 2005, at the request of the CEO, he served as acting Chief Marketing Officer for fourteen months while the company searched for an industry-tenured individual to fill the newly created, officer-level position. During his time as acting CMO, Chilton revitalized company’s corporate marketing efforts by providing experience and leadership, and establishing overall marketing vision.

Chris has held a number of marketing vp and director-level positions in the Technology industry. In 2001 he served as vice president of US marketing for Gloucester, U.K.-based MessageLabs, Inc., an Internet-level email security Managed Service Provider start-up. From 2000 to 2001, Mr. Chilton was vice president of marketing for network infrastructure software start-up, FireSummit, Inc., there he drove the company’s overall marketing and brand strategies and product positioning.

Chilton also spent four years as director of corporate marketing for Eicon Technology Corporation in Montreal, Quebec, where he defined and managed the company’s global marketing and communications programs and coordinated global activities with the company’s three regional marketing organizations in Dallas, London and Sydney.

A Texan by birth, Mr. Chilton holds a bachelor of business administration degree in marketing from Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Texas. He has also taken executive education courses in strategic marketing from the University of Chicago, Graduate School of Business and the Cox School of Business at SMU.
