Biography

BIOGRAPHY


Born in Paris, in 1981, David Serero started his Opera career by studying with
the Russian tenor Vladimir Galouzine in 2002.

David moved to St Petersburg to study at the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory in
2004. That same year, at 23 years old, he made his debut singing Scarpia
(Tosca) and Germont (La Traviata).

From his acclaimed debuts, David received an invitation to be part of the Young
Soloist Academy of the Mariinsky theater, founded by Valery Gergiev and
directed by Larissa Gergieva. He became the first non-Russian to be part of the
Academy. During his apprentice, David studied quantity of roles, with an
emphasis on the Russian repertoire, with roles such as Eugene Onegine, Prince
Yeletsky and Count Tomsky from the Queen of Spades and Prince Igor.

He has toured in France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Russia, USA and Israel.

In 2006, David Serero made his European debut at 25 years old, singing
Escamillo (Carmen), a role he affects a lot, at the Brasov Opera in Romania,
directed and staged by Cristian Mihaielescu.

David Serero received the high distinction of "Ambassador of the city of Brasov"
from the Romanian government for his debut performance.

In October 2007, he returned to sing the parts of the Four Villains from
Les Contes d'Hoffmann (Tales of Hoffmann) in that same company, with whom
he became the principal guest artist.

In November 2007, David made his U.S debut singing Alfio (Cavalliera
Rusticana) and Tonio (I Pagliacci) in Harrisburg, PA. He received critical acclaim
for his acting qualities. At 26 years old, David Serero is the youngest French
opera singer to make his U.S debut. (Source A.F.P).

March 2008, David Serero performed the part of Escamillo at the Livermore
Valley Opera (San Francisco, CA) staged by director James Marvel.

Invited by the conductor Richard Beswick (ex-Artistic Director and Producer of
the legendary label "Decca" in London), David Serero made his France debut
with the role of the Doctor Malatesta (Don Pasquale), during an open air opera
festival with the Centre Philharmonic.

Among his future engagements are Zurga (Pearls Fishers) and Escamillo
(Carmen) with the Brasov Opera for September 2008.
The role of Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor) in January 2009 and Escamillo
(Carmen) in March 2009 both in Florida , USA.


Mr Serero resides between his home in Paris and in NYC.
