Barefoot, a native of Charlotte, NC, is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Before founding Holophile, Inc (NYC), Barefoot was Director of Marketing for Craftsman Graphics, Inc. of Charlotte, North Carolina and served for eight years as a pilot in the NC Air National Guard, piloting C130 aircraft.From 1978-1990 he was a Principal of Bliss, Barefoot & Associates, Inc., a New York City corporate/marketing communications firm. He is a member of the American Association of Museums, the National Association for Museum Exhibition and the Society of Photo-Optical Engineers, Working Group on Holography. He served on the founding committee of the Museum of Holography, New York City.
