Biography

Ferruccio De Lorenzo graduated from Federico II Medical School, Naples, Italy in 1990 and qualified as a specialist in General (Internal) Medicine (EEA certificate) in 1996. In 2002 he was awarded a Ph.D and Diploma in Medicine from the National Heart & Lung Institute, Imperial College of Science, Technology and Medicine in London, UK. In 2002 he founded Euroclinics, partner agency of the CHD collaborative group to implement the National Service Framework for Coronary Heart Disease. In 2003 he obtained the Clinician Scientist Award recognition for the post at the Thrombosis Research Institute from the National Co-ordinating Centre for Research Capacity and Development (Department of Health) and the National Clinician Scientist Monitoring Committee. In 2005 has been appointed Consultant Physician in General Medicine and Prevention of Vascular Disorders at the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital NHS Trust in London. In January 2008 the Faculty of Medicine- King's College London, and the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital have nominated Dr De Lorenzo for the Clinical Senior Lectureship awarded by the Higher Education Funding Council for England, the Department of Health, and the UK Clinical Research Collaboration. From 2009 Clinical Director of the Heart Health Check programme at the Knaresborough Place Medical Chambers in London(www.londonmedicalchambers.com/ferruccio_de_lorenzo.asp). He is a member of the British Hypertension Society,International Society of Vascular Health (ISVH) and HEART UK, BMA, and Royal College of Physicians.
