Edgar was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico on May 20, 1971. He graduated from Florida State University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science having majored in economics. While at Florida State University, Mr. Belaval was a member of the Vice President's Council on Expenditures, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes and a wide receiver on the 1993 National Championship Football Team.Prior to attending law school he worked for the lobbying firm of Blank, Rigsby & Meenan in Tallahassee, Florida. He attended The University of Bridgeport Quinnipiac School of Law from which he received his juris doctor degree in 1998. Upon graduation from law school, he attended the University of London where he studied international commercial litigation, international maritime law and arbitration. Mr. Belaval has extensive trial experience throughout the state of Florida, as well as the federal courts, and has successfully argued several cases before the Third District Court of Appeals.
