Sanjeev specialises in value capture and preservation from strategic sourcing. He brings a pragmatic perspective to its operational advantages and business risks. Adept at aligning operational initiatives to key commercial objectives, he focuses on business risk assessment and mitigation, re-negotiating bilateral agreements between clients and suppliers for “performance assurance.”
His professional skills span building partnerships & alliances, defining and implementing strategy, risk assessment, organisation and business process re-engineering, management capability assessment, service delivery, and systems development. He has expertise in the services, telecoms, information, and insurance sectors.
Currently, Sanjeev is the COO of a Mobile Voice Security start-up. As a member of its executive team, he is jointly responsible for securing investments to fund the business plan, based on a portfolio of secure IP communication services. Using indirect distribution channels and a staged growth plan, he is establishing operations for a series of scaled revenue-generating pilots, to enable full commercial launch within 12 months.
He is also advising the global IT services group of a $17B Audit, Risk, Tax and Advisory firm, on its sourcing strategy, governance, performance management, delivery assurance, operational integration, and deal structures for content, IT, telecom & infrastructure services.
He has previously been the Global CIO and Head of Operations, reporting to the Executive Committee of a $0.5B Management Consultancy. Sanjeev successfully led a 3-year programme to re-engineer its worldwide operations, systems, and infrastructure.
Sanjeev was the Founder and COO of a CRM Business Services company, which he helped grow from €4M to over €35M in annual revenues. He managed a team of 150 consultants and operations staff. He also served as the President and CEO of its independent technical services business, offering CRM and Business Intelligence (BI) outsourced solutions to small and mid-size companies. He improved the operating margins of the business by 30% to make it profitable.
From his tenure as Global CIO and VP Business Operations for a mobile satellite communications company, Sanjeev brings extensive experience in the telecoms industry. He successfully directed the company’s Billing and Customer Care operations, establishing strategic outsource partnerships and negotiating $250M in global service contracts.
Earlier experiences include engagements with Fortune 50 information services and Life Insurance companies. He started his career as Professor and Director of Graduate Studies at University of Maryland (USA), publishing numerous articles in international journals, and serving on programme committees of international conferences.
Sanjeev has a PhD (1985) and MS (1981) in Computer Science from University of Maryland (USA), as well as a BS in Electrical Engineering. He speaks English, German, Italian, and three Indian languages.
