I came to Shippensburg in 2006 after completing my Ph.D. in History at the University of Michigan. I am a specialist in environmental, economic and urban history with a research focus on the development of metropolitan Pittsburgh during the twentieth century. My classes emphasize independent archival research, student-centered discussions, and interactive lectures. I am currently working on a book under contract with the University of Pennsylvania Press for its Politics and Culture in Modern America series.
