Biography

There is very little I haven't tried and even less that I have not succeeded at! I am thirsty for knowledge and strive to be the best at everything I do!

I have cooked professionally and for fun since 1978, having the opportunity to live and work in the Virgin Islands, on Private Yachts from 65' to 140' , as a Private Chef for five years. It was an amazing adventure and I had the opportunity to travel to some of the most beautiful and exclusive islands, with some of the world's most interesting and wealthy people. It's the most personal form of cooking experience you can gain, when the guests are living with you for 5-10 days and there is no second chance when you are serving in such an intimate setting. I LOVED IT!

When I moved back to "reality" in 1995, I was introduced to the Construction Industry and bitten hard by the fast pace and constantly changing agenda. I started as a Project Assistant, in effect a Secretary with a glorious title, and quickly advanced through the ranks to Assistant Project Manager within five years! I took all the training they could offer and soaked up all the porfessional knowledge I could garner from the people I met every day. I learned with my hands and my eyes and I couldn't get enough! Here we are, 15 years later and I am sad to say, the Construction Industry may be a fading glory for me.

With the economy in the state it's in, I find myself branching out once again! I know I can always cook and am not afraid of the hard work that would involve but, I still think my skills and experience int he Administrative end of Project Management will allow me to run just about any office out there with ease. New to Texas, I am on the "hunt", once again, for a job that engages me, keeps me busy and continues to grow the skills I already have honed.

Of course, job hunting getsmore difficult with "age" but I am not yet willing to give in to the idea that I need to slow down as I approach my 50th year! In fact, I think I can do more as I get older because I work smarter, not harder. Cliche, yes but, it works if you can get the hang of it...and I think I have it pretty-well mastered!
