Anne A. Schaeffer is an experienced direct marketer and education professional. After earning her BA, she joined Meredith Corporation in its Broadcasting Division, leaving them several years later to join the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) as part of the then fledgling Education department. Over the next 24 years, Schaeffer worked in the seminar, conference, marketing, membership, operations, and councils areas. In every role, she was involved in delivering the best content, in the most appropriate format, for all direct marketers, be they junior or senior, consumer or business-to-business, small company or large, domestic or international.She not only delivered services to direct marketers who were members of the association, she honed her craft as a business to business direct marketer, learning from the greats in DM.Schaeffer was instrumental in creating the DM Certificate, the Insurance DM Certificate, and the SEM Certificate as well as bringing more that 30 courses to the curriculum of the DMA. In addition to her BA in Secondary Education, Schaeffer has an MBA in Marketing from Baruch. She is a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the Direct Marketing Idea Exchange, and the American Society of Association Executives. Currently, Schaeffer is the Membership Director of the Direct Marketing Idea Exchange, the Managing Director of the Interactive Marketing Institute at Virginia Commonwealth University, and a marketing consultant to the American Institute of Chemical Engineers.
