Gontran de Quillacq started his professional career with option trading at Société Générale in London. Mr de Quillacq managed several option trading books of which Sweden, The Netherlands before being promoted to the German stocks. He gained there the specific experience of volatility trading, as well as an excellent understanding of financial derivatives.Mr de Quillacq has rebuilt Société Générale's FTSE index-arbitrage activity afterwards, completely overhauling the trading approach following the introduction of SETS. Mr de Quillacq overcame two complete failures of the Front-Office system for risk and PL, while maintaining production on the largest cash-and-carry position in the City (£2.5 Bn), beating all profit targets by several multiples. Mr de Quillacq is considered one of the best index-arbers in the City by authorities and competitors alike.Mr de Quillacq joined Lehman Brothers Europe in 2000 to build their European Arbitrage activity. He reinvented the desk as a global DeltaOne franchise, while building the desk's IT infrastructure. Organized and traded new business products: ETFs, Swaps, Sector Derivatives, Certificates... Mr de Quillacq created the original and eye-catching non-volatilistic structuration activity, notably initiating the first derivatives on algorithms, also more recently called "Securitized Alpha".Mr de Quillacq joined Tykhe Capital in 2004, a renown multi-strategy Hedge Fund in NY, trading convertible bonds and credit derivatives on a proprietary basis. He established the firm's option activity, before developing a statistical arbitrage strategy in the equity volatility and credit domains ("Structure Arbitrage").Mr de Quillacq joined by Nomura Securities International in 2006, managing the US Equity Derivatives customer franchise, while simultaneously developing proprietary trading strategies.He has joined HSBC' Structured Equities group in 2007.Academia:Mr de Quillacq attained PhD level in physics in the world's best academic centers: math sup & math spé, magistère in theoretical physics at Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon (ranking third) and Doctoral Studies at Ecole Supérieure d'Electricité. Mr de Quillacq simultaneously participated in different leading research experiments: in nuclear physics at the Oliver Lodge Laboratory, in atomic physics at the Stanford Research Institute SRI and in differential algebra at Berkeley. Taught at university. Also graduated from Officers' School during military service.Mr de Quillacq completed afterwards France's best business degree, the 4 year - HEC diploma, also classified as a MSc. Management in two years only, with major in Finance.
