Kevin ErskineDirector, eBusiness - Anthem BCBSMr. Erskine currently serves as the Director of eBusiness for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield for Virginia Markets. In that capacity his primary focus is to formulate the strategies and tactical implementations of a cohesive and holistic eBusiness program. Goals of the eBusiness program are to increase revenue, reduce costs, and help achieve retention goals by enhancing constituent experiences. Constituents include physicians, members, group administrators, brokers, and employees.•Prioritization - Identify, define, secure funding for, prioritize and drive eBusiness functionality implementation.•Cross-functional coordination - Interface with Business areas, Legal, HIPAA, Planning, Finance and IT services to assure that functions are delivered as defined.•Usability – Manages the creation of optimal user experiences across constituent portals. •Communication & Adoption – Create initiatives to communicate eBusiness functionality to external and internal constituents and drive adoption and utilization of web site, with an eye towards specific benefit realization and administrative cost reduction.•Operational Readiness - Lead a team of representatives from each divisional area to ensure that various customer-facing and internal support units are prepared to respond to and adequately support constituents on the delivery of eBusiness initiatives. •Senior Staff education - Ensure that top-level executives are fully informed and in agreement about benefits of, as well as company direction on, such issues as CRM, online collaboration, and Sales Force Automation. Creation of presentations, vision statements and position documents.•eBusiness & eHealth Research - Competitive, industry, and out-of-industry research, analysis, and recommendation for fact-based decision making.•General Functions - Presentation of eBusiness capabilities to potential accounts. Interface with Proposal department in completion of RFP responses. Interface with Investor Relations, Marketing, and Corporate Communications departments to ensure that appropriate materials are created in support of communication and education of Anthem’s eBusiness Initiatives.Mr. Erskine was interviewed for and quoted in the 2nd Edition of CRM At the Speed of Light by the author Paul Greenberg. In addition Mr. Erskine has been quoted in PCWorld, Information Week, InfoWorldPrior to working for Anthem, Mr. Erskine spent three years in San Francisco/Silicon Valley working as a consultant for a variety of “dot-com” and traditional firms. One of his long-term clients was SPL WorldGroup, the consulting division of an international technology services firm that develops business-focused technology and e-business solutions for Utilities and Insurance/Health Care clients. In his work with SPL he formulated, developed and implemented business development and marketing strategies; initiated and refined strategic relationships with a variety of partner organizations, while conducting business strategy consultations for external clients. Additionally, he managed the worldwide corporate split of the consulting division from the product division, while concurrently managing the reorganization and refocus of U.S. Consulting operation. He developed and administered the “3-Day MBA” program for all new consultants.Mr. Erskine has also worked with the following organizations: MEDePass, Saba Software, Digital Think, Hill-Rom, Big Edge, and Cadabra, as well as serving on the Business Advisory Council for Global Health Care Exchange, an industry “super-exchange.” During that time, Mr. Erskine also had partnerships/subcontract arrangements with Organic, Onyx, Razorfish, Scient, ChannelPoint, and Lante.From 1996 to 1999, Mr. Erskine served several roles at Trigon Blue Cross Blue Shield including Manager of Marketing & Sales Technology, where he had oversight of all corporate Internet & Intranet-related initiatives; was responsible for all technology-associated initiatives for Marketing and Sales division; and managed
