Biography

January, 2005 - Born and raised in New York City and upstate New York, Gina S. Ghent is a derivatives lawyer for the investment banking division of Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce (“CIBC”), CIBC World Markets Corp. Currently living in Bronxville, New York, Ms. Ghent has earned international and scholarly accolades by obtaining business and law degrees at the Sorbonne and the University of London and being nominated as a Rhodes Scholar. In May 2003, she earned her Executive MBA degree from Cornell University. A testament to her perseverance and desire to achieve, Ms. Ghent is currently is the head Advisor in the Credit Derivatives and Equity Structured Products divisions of World Markets, and is responsible for the negotiation and execution of all derivatives transactions. Ms. Ghent is an active member of the International Swaps and Derivatives Association (commonly known as “ISDA”), the derivative industry's main governing and policy-making organization, where she represents CIBC as a member of the Credit Derivatives Committee.Amongst many other causes and interests, including as a volunteer of the American Red Cross, Ms. Ghent is the sole sponsor of the Hadley-Luzerne High School Field Hockey team (the “Team”), a program she funds with its goal of providing young women with the tools and opportunities in order to reach the self-actualization stage of their athletic and academic lives. It is Ms. Ghent's belief that the seeds of hard work, determination, and work toward a common goal are planted by participating in sports and can flourish into strong character, powerful work ethic and an overall greater society. Ms. Ghent also devotes time to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, and specifically serves as an advisor to the Canadian Houses and organization. She fully believes in the mission of the organization to “help children in need,” and she seeks to do whatever possible to assist in the continuing achievement of such mission.Ms. Ghent's mantra and motto is "The purpose of life is to live a life of purpose," and seeks to accomplish such life of purpose through her never-ending quest to conceive, believe and achieve.
