Baron Hinkel was born in Winnipeg and has been involved in sports his whole life. From the age of four he started playing hockey. His parents owned and operated a ski resort where he skied and skated all day on the slopes and at a practice rink at the resort. Baron was very competitive and competed at the National level in waterskiing, freestyle skiing and hockey. He was a member of the Canadian Freestyle Ski Team and a Canadian and North- American Champion. After retiring from skiing he attended the University of North Dakota where he played hockey and earned a science degree in Air Transportation/Aeronautical Studies. After graduation he became a venue co-ordinator for the Pan-Am Games in Winnipeg where he designed and managed the construction through completion of 14 different event venues each of them grossing the most value of all the events. He was a special events co-ordinator for Coca Cola Bottling working with 4 major sporting teams and concerts attended by 1.3 million people. Baron is an airline pilot for US Airways and CEO for Cross Check Consulting in Chicago where he resides.
