Corner Brook, NL - Cycle Solutions is the newest bicycle shop to open on the West Coast of Newfoundland. Formerly FreMar Ltd., Cycle Solutions is now owned and operated by two cycling enthusiasts, Gord Andrews and Peter Ollerhead. The shop has been open since April 2003.

Cycle Solutions handle all warranty work for bicycles purchased from Wal-Mart, Canadian Tire and Zellers and also sell professional mountain and road bike lines, including Oryx, Miele, Mikado, Fuji, Highway Nineteen, Kestral, SE Racing, Free Agent and Bianchi. They also sell a variety of bicycle accessories and clothing.

Gordon Andrews has been repairing bicycles for the last 11 years and is currently completing a university degree in business. He has been an active volunteer for many years with the Corner Brook Triathlon and Kids of Steel bicycle camp as a bicycle mechanic. He is also an active competitor in the West Coast Mountain Bike Association (W.C.M.B.A) and organizes non-competitive rides and events.

From an early age, Peter Ollerhead has been involved with bicycles through competing in races and organizing cycling events. Peter has experience racing at a national level, cycling for Team Newfoundland and Labrador in the 2001 Canada Summer Games. Currently, as vice president of the W.C.M.B.A., he organizes and schedules cycling races and events. As well, Peter completed level 1-theory instructor's course in bicycling and is actively involved as a volunteer for the Kids of Steel bicycle camps each summer. In addition to this, he started a mountain bike racing series within the local schools to introduce kids to mountain biking at an early age.

The West Coast Mountain Bike Association holds a mountain bike racing series through out the summer and is expanding to include road races and criteriums. The president and vice-president of this organization are employed by Cycle Solutions, who are helping Corner Brook grow into a cycling community.
