Restoration Hardware, Inc. is a specialty retailer of hardware, bathware, furniture, lighting, textiles, accessories and gifts that reflects its classic and authentic American point of view. The Company operated 102 stores and nine outlet stores in 30 states, the District of Columbia and Canada as of February 2, 2008. In addition, it also operates a direct-to-customer (direct) sales channel, which includes both catalog and Internet, and a wholly owned furniture manufacturer. Restoration Hardware is organized into two segments: Stores segment and Direct-to-customer segment. During the fiscal year ended February 2, 2008 (fiscal 2007), the Company introduced its third category extension, the Restoration Hardware Bed & Bath catalog. Additionally, Restoration Hardware launched Restoration Hardware Trade, a direct sales division targeting home and hospitality developers. In June 2008, the Company was acquired by a group of investors, including Catterton Partners.
