Conoco Inc., is an integrated, global energy company engaged in the exploration, development, production and sale of crude oil, natural gas and natural gas liquids (NGLs), as well as other energy-related activities. The Company has three operating segments: upstream, downstream and emerging businesses. The upstream operating segment's activities include exploring for, developing, producing and selling crude oil, natural gas and NGLs, and also include the Syncrude mining operations (Canadian Syncrude). Downstream operating segment activities include refining crude oil and other feedstocks into petroleum products, buying and selling crude oil and refined products and transporting, distributing and marketing petroleum products. The emerging businesses operating segment's activities include the development of new businesses beyond the Company's traditional operations, including carbon fibers, natural gas refining and international power. Conoco operates in over 40 countries worldwide.
