We do not recommend anyone sign up with a host that hasn't been in operation at least a few years. A high percentage of company's go out of business quickly in what is an extremely competitive market, and nearly always their clients are left picking up the pieces.

Do not look at a hosting provider that you think may be at risk of being bought out. This usually ends up in substantial changes not only in customer service, terms and conditions, network and reliability, but also often you have to make changes to accommodate their movements.

Also, ensure you check the WHOIS which will tell you the creation date for their domain (a good indication on how long they have 'really' been in business).
