The Specialty Gift Shop is owned and operated by P&R Marketing, L.L.C. of Idaho. The company was formed in January of 2000. It is made up of two partners; Jeff Pedersen and David Roper. The decision that these two fortysomething men made to expand their world into the Internet was based on two separate events.
Jeff began his work life as a mechanic of diesel trucks. A few years back he ventured into the sales end of those big trucks. He always felt that there were other ways to use his talents. In September of the year 1999, he attended a seminar on Internet commerce. He went there primarily to find out how to sell his trucks online. He came away with much more. He decided to purchase some electronic storefronts and then set out to market them. One of the people he contacted was David. His working life had been in a family owned chain of clothing stores. At almost the precise time Jeff contacted David, the decision to close the clothing stores had been made. Instead of selling an electronic storefront for clothing, Jeff sold David on a new career. Having been close friends for a number of years, a partnership began. Learning all they could about this new adventure from top professionals, they began to build an e-commerce website.
That site was launched in March of 2000. From a beginning of no traffic at all, their website began to receive more and more visitors. By staying on top of the "game" of website design and marketing, that original website has undergone a number of complete design changes. By 2001, The Idaho Shop.com had received thousands and thousands of page views. The work to improve that website continues.
The Specialty Gift Shop was launched in June of 2000. The site has undergone a complete renovation. What you see here is the culmination of knowledge and experience that has occurred over the past two years. The Specialty Gift Shop will continue to change as products, knowledge and experience are updated.
