Lutheran Homes Kitchener-Waterloo was established in 1992, purchasing Trinity Village (formerly St. Raphael's Nursing Home) in 1993 as a going concern. Since that time, Trinity Village has seen many changes including the completion of a new Care Centre (2003), the building of 60 life lease town homes and the renovation of the former care centre into the Studios Retirement Residence (2005). Future plans include the building of a new chapel and a daycare on the 11.5 acre site.

Continuously operated since 1972, Trinity Village is a charitable, not-for-profit organization partly funded by the Ministry of Health. Fully accredited by the Canadian Council on Health Care Accreditation, the Care Centre serves the needs of those requiring complex nursing services. The affordable Studios Retirement Residence is aimed at modest income seniors seeking security, care and companionship. The Terraces life lease Town homes provide independent living for seniors 55+.

At Trinity Village we follow the principles of the Eden Alternative, dedicated to eradicating loneliness, helplessness and boredom amongst our residents. Under these principles, we are attempting to go beyond room, board and care and help our clients reach their individual potential at whatever age and stage they may be.
