Orasure Technologies, Inc. develops, manufactures and markets oral fluid diagnostic products and specimen collection devices using its own oral fluid technologies, as well as diagnostic products, including immunoassays and other in vitro diagnostic tests and other medical services. The Company’s diagnostic products include tests, which are processed in a laboratory. In addition to these products, the Company also sells certain immunoassay tests and reagents for insurance risk assessment, substance-abuse testing and forensic toxicology applications; an oral fluid Western blot human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-1 confirmatory test approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for confirming positive HIV-1 test results obtained from the use of the Company’s OraSure collection device, and the FDA 510(k) cleared Q.E.D. point-of-care saliva alcohol test.
