Childhelp was founded in 1959 by Sara O'Meara and Yvonne Fedderson. Childhelp's mission is to prevent, treat and educate people about child abuse. Childhelp operates residential treatment centers such as the Merv Griffin Village of Childhelp in Beaumont. These treatment centers are sometimes a child's last hope to seek treatment and help. Childhelp operates foster agencies and funds and staffs a 24-hour hotline to report child abuse. Childhelp also educates children in public and private schools with the "Good Touch/Bad Touch" program.
