Description
The Northwest Environmental Education Council was founded by Erick McWayne in May of 2000. Our main offices are located in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle and includes a large training facility for hosting events on site. Our programs serve approximately 3,000 people per year across the western United States. These services are provided by our staff, volunteers, and contractors (experts hired for specific projects).
Our three main programs are as follows:
Environmental Education: provides in-class and after-school education and activities for K-12 students.
Professional Training: provides training for school teachers and environmental professionals (e.g., scientists, engineers, and government agency staff).
Environmental Awareness: provides lectures, conferences, and film screenings for the general public.
Through these programs we work towards fostering an ecologically sustainable world.
