Look for more partner updates on this election and our federal program as the school year begins.

The Student Vote initiative was founded by Taylor Gunn and developed in partnership with Lindsay Mazzucco in 2003.

The first-ever program occurred during the Ontario provincial election, engaging more than 335,000 students from 825 schools across the province.

Following the success of the trial program, Lindsay and Taylor travelled the country to engage stakeholders within the education, media, and government sectors. Since then, more than 1.2 million students have participated in Student Vote programs.

"In our first five years, we've worked with the most amazing people that inspired success and helped Student Vote face seemingly impossible obstacles. Whether it was working as a volunteer or never knowing when the election would occur , these individuals committed themselves and made it all happen. Our past team members, Team Leaders, family and friends have given us so much. We will always be sincerely grateful for what they gave personally and professionally to Student Vote."
