Description
The new Opportunities Industrialization Center of Washington, DC was organized in 1999. With leadership from business, the faith-based community, community organization and the private sector, OIC has been organized based on the principles and experiences of the National OIC movement founded by Rev. Leon H. Sullivan in Philadelphia, PA in 1964. OIC educates, trains, motivates and supports at-risk youth and disadvantaged adults to take control of their lives, build education skills and work related competencies and enter the mainstream workforce on the road to self-sufficiency.
