Belden Inc. (Belden), formerly known as Belden CDT Inc., designs, manufactures and markets signal transmission solutions, including cable, connectivity and active components for applications in markets ranging from industrial automation to data centers, broadcast studios and aerospace. The Company produces and sells electronic cables, connectors and other products. It has different cable products within various cable configurations, including copper cables, including shielded and unshielded twisted pair cables, coaxial cables, stranded cables, and ribbon cables; fiber optic cables, which transmit light signals through glass or plastic fibers, and composite cable configurations, which are combinations of multiconductor, coaxial, and fiber optic cables jacketed together or otherwise joined together. During the year ended December 31, 2007, Belden completed three acquisitions: Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH, LTK Wiring Co. Ltd. and Lumberg Automation Components.
