In 2004, KMG America completed the transaction and the company's mission was to grow the employee benefit and administration business units to be national presence.

Kanawha has a strong and illustrious history that began in 1958 when Colonel Elliott White Springs founded Kanawha Insurance Company to help loyal employees provide more financial security for their families. Colonel Springs believed that family responsibilities came first. Springs established the tradition of human dignity upon which Kanawha was built and his principles remain a guiding force.
