Nagoya International School, founded in 1964, is a private, coeducational day school offering an American curricular program from preschool through grade twelve. Graduates earn a standard U.S. secondary school diploma. All instruction is in English. Total school enrollment is near 310, with approximately 100 in grades 6-12. Pre-K through 5 are in self-contained classrooms with one or two classes at each grade level. Over twenty nations are represented, with the largest number coming from the United States and Japan. NIS is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges in the United States.
