Description

The Spectranetics Corporation develops, manufactures, markets and distributes single-use medical devices used in minimally invasive procedures within the cardiovascular system for use with Spectranetics' excimer laser system. The Company’s products are focused on two categories: vascular intervention and cardiac lead removal. Its laser system includes the CVX-300 laser unit and various disposable fiber-optic laser catheters. As of December 31, 2007, the Company’s installed base of laser systems was 743, of which 587 were in the United States. Spectranetics' disposable catheter sales, service and laser rental represented 96% of its revenue for the year ended December 31, 2007. Disposable catheter sales represented 83% of the Company's revenue for 2007. In June 2008, the Company acquired the endovascular business of Kensey Nash and has begun commercialization of the acquired products.
