Description
In our efforts to provide services to children, families and communities, Alternative Behavioral Services (ABS) has developed ABS LINCS: Linking Individuals, Neighborhoods and Clinical Services. ABS LINCS is an integrated approach to the delivery of behavioral health, substance abuse and social services designed to support children and families and link them with appropriate services. The linking process is done through ABS LINCS coordination, which offers an array of services that includes:
Assessment and evaluation
Planning and coordination
Supportive counseling
Treatment services
Linkage to appropriate services
Child and family advocacy
Monitoring of service delivery
Resource development
Outcome measurements
24 hour crisis intervention.
How Does ABS LINCS Work?
ABS LINCS staff meets with public and private stakeholders, community-based organizations, advocates, children and families to develop the Community Strengths and Needs Assessment. This assessment is the basis for a dynamic plan to develop strengths-based, culturally competent, community-based services that support children, families and their communities. The process includes identifying community strengths and needed services. ABS LINCS staff will work with referring agencies and key stakeholders to determine gaps in services and develop services that promote quality outcomes. ABS LINCS provides access to a variety of quality clinical and social services such as:
Inpatient hospitals
Residential treatment centers
Therapeutic group homes
Therapeutic foster care
In-home counseling
School-based counseling
After school programming
Therapeutic recreation
Therapeutic mentoring
Outpatient therapy
Intensive case management
Specialized education
Substance abuse services
Crisis intervention
Support services.
ABS LINCS is a partner with all agencies that provide services for children and families. We are committed to collaborating with numerous systems and community groups including child welfare, mental health, juvenile justice, health care, education, the YMCAs and Boys & Girls Clubs, church groups, outpatient providers, crisis services, substance abuse providers, NA/AA, support groups, and others involved in the lives of children and families. We link children and families to a variety of community agencies and treatment supports that will be available as long as necessary and after formal services have ended.
