ALSO-Cornerstone, Inc. provides psychiatric outpatient services on a sliding fee scale to adults 18 and older in the Greater New Haven area. The merged entity, ALSO-Cornerstone, Inc., has been providing DWI service since 1981 and historically has provided information triage and referral services for individuals and families impacted by substance abuse. ALSO-Cornerstone, Inc. was licensed as an outpatient psychiatric clinic for adults in March 1993.

ALSO-Cornerstone, Inc.'s outpatient clinic provides a safe, supportive place where people can get help with their own feelings of loss, grief, and/or depression. The outpatient clinic is licensed by the Connecticut Department of Public Health and has received funding from the Department of Mental Health and Addiction, enabling ALSO-Cornerstone, Inc. to provide outpatient mental health and addictions counseling at minimal or no cost. The Outpatient Clinic is directed by Sofia Quijano, LCSW.

The outpatient program offers telephone information and triage Monday through Friday and provides appointments on site one day per week with a licensed social worker, licensed psychologist, or one of the Master's level clinicians who work on a per diem basis. A psychiatrist reviews all treatment records and is available for consultation as needed.

Client demographics reflect the geographical areas we serve and include those individuals in our region who have traditionally been underserved. Payment for services is available on a sliding fee scale - many individuals who come for treatment have never been seen by private therapists. This includes dually diagnosed substance abusers who have often failed at traditional treatment programs a well as several elderly.

ALSO-Cornerstone, Inc. is a member of Advanced Behavioral Health, Inc. (ABH). The staff and outpatient psychiatric clinic are credentialed by several behavioral health managed care panels.
