Union Rural Electric (URE) is a member-owned, not-for-profit cooperative located in Marysville, Ohio.

URE provides a variety of products and services to nearly 8,000 residential and commercial customers of Union County, Ohio.

URE is one of 25 energy cooperatives within the state of Ohio. It was founded by rural citizens on August 8, 1935. This followed the passing of the Rural Electrification Act which made available low-interest loans to any corporation that would attempt the task of serving rural areas.

We have continued to grow and prosper throughout the years as our communities have expanded. Now we provide services to a variety of residents and businesses, with that number growing every year.
