Silgan Holdings Inc. (Holdings) is a manufacturer of metal and plastic consumer goods packaging products. The Company’s products are used for a range of end markets and it operates 69 manufacturing plants in North America, Europe, Asia and South America. The Company operates in thee businesses: metal food container business, plastic container business and closures business. Its products include steel and aluminum containers for human and pet food; custom-designed plastic containers, tubes and closures for personal care, health care, pharmaceutical, household and industrial chemical, food, pet care, agricultural chemical, automotive and marine chemical products, and metal, composite and plastic vacuum closures for food and beverage products. In February 2008, it acquired the metal vacuum closures operations (Vem) of Grup Vemsa 1857, S.L. In April 2008, Silgan Holdings Inc. acquired Amcor Limited's White Cap closures business in Europe, Asia, South America and Brazil.
